Born in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Jenelle Roccaforte is a award winning bassist, composer, recording artist, and musical director. She holds a masters degree in contemporary music performance and production from Berklee College of Music. Jenelle leads her own project Roccadile and released her debut neo-soul album in 2023 featuring original compositions and some of the finest musicians in New Orleans. She recently became a grand prize winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her composition "Flowers in Bloom" set to release in December of 2024.
As a bassist, her incredible sense of groove and versatility on both upright and electric bass have made her a highly sought after addition for artists, performances, collaborations, and more. Jenelle has performed internationally as a band leader and with renowned artists such as Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam, Chuchito Valdés, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Adonis Rose and NOJO 7, Avery Raquel, Ms. Jaylin Brown, and Zydeco legend Sean Ardoin to name a few.
Apart from her life as a bassist, she has also worked with numerous education and outreach programs, leading workshops and mentoring aspiring young musicians. Jenelle firmly believes in the power of music to transform lives, and is a strong advocate for getting music into the children from underprivileged communities.
